De Ann S. Jones Theatre Rental Package
50’x58’ blackbox theatre, seats 150-200 (risers/chair configuration subject to change); concessions by Theatre Raleigh, shared use of lobby and restrooms
Rates: average rental pricing, including basic lights and sound, and dressing rooms, is approximately $1,300/day, $3,100/week.
Options included in cost above: concessions by Theatre Raleigh, access to audience chairs, shared use of lobby and restrooms, option to add on dressing rooms
Add-ons: use of basic lighting inventory (front light and LED top light), use of basic sound inventory (speakers and board only), audience risers and chairs, basic lighting design, lighting and sound operators (based on availability of staff, $25/hr)
Shown is our Proscenium setup most commonly requested for rentals, number of rows on risers subject to riser availability. Risers may be in other configurations depending on the dates – please consult with rental manager.
Risers and seating can be removed/moved for a fee equal to the labor hours required.

The rental process is as follows:
- Initial rental inquiry is made via email to Alison Hopfer, Rentals Manager at rentals@theatreraleigh.com;
- Request should include (as applicable)
- Name and phone number
- Organization and Event names
- Dates (preferred and any flexibility)
- Location preference (primarily audience/event size)
- Technical needs/requests
- Request should include (as applicable)
- Initial rental inquiry is made via email to Alison Hopfer, Rentals Manager at rentals@theatreraleigh.com;
- A meeting with the rental manager may be required to determine availability and rental needs; a rental agreement is created and signed by the renter, and a two part invoice is created (with a deposit due at time of scheduling the rental, and the second payment due before the beginning of the rental); a production meeting is required for performance events; any technical details not finalized upon the initial signing of the agreement must be determined 30 days prior to the rental – any scheduling details not finalized must be determined 3 weeks prior to the rental.
- All rental requests must be made with enough advance notice for personnel to be scheduled/spaces to be prepared. For performance events, this can range from 30 days to 3 months (depending on rental needs); for non-performance events this can range from 2-3 weeks. Requests made without enough notice may be denied.
- Cancellations must be made at least 2 weeks in advance for non-performance rentals, and at least 3 months in advance for performance rentals in order for the deposit to be refunded. If costs have been incurred for any preparations specific to the rental prior to its cancellation, that amount will be deducted from the money refunded.
